Budo - Japanese martial arts
The budo arts I've studied are:
Aikido
1988-1991
My first real contact with Budo was when I together with a couple of friends started studying Aikido at Hashidate Aikido under Sensei Lennart Linder. I studied for a couple of years but had to quit partly due to a damaged knee.

Karate
1992
After Aikido I decided to try something less "soft" and ended up trying Shukokai Karate at the Salem Shukokai Dojo, this time again with a couple of friends. The same year I was awarded with the "Best beginner" award. Even though it was fun and interesting I soon decided to give it up.

Shorinji Kempo
1994-
After visiting Japan during the summer of 1994 I recieved a book about Shorinji Kempo from my friends in Tokyo and seeing all the, to me, very different techniques and forms I just made me really want to try it out. We went to Stockholm Studenters Shorinji Kempo Shibu (SSSKS) and I immediately fell totaly in love with Shorinji Kempo. The 5-6 years to follow were full of hard training and I still keep it up, if only with less intensity and frequency nowdays.
